TIME TO TEACH OUR CHILDREN TO LEARN FROM THEIR MISTAKES

EDITOR, THE TIMES:

How about this to curb crystal meth: How about teaching children that
they are responsible for their own actions?

It's a new and strange concept, but stick with me. Instead of taking
the costumes out of Halloween, how about if you don't like it don't
come to school? Same goes for Christmas - if you don't like it, don't
participate.

Have the people who didn't get 10 out of 10 on their spelling test
deal with the fact that those who did deserve to have their test on
display. [Maybe they will study next time.]

Instead of giving everyone a ribbon on sports day, reward the people who won.

We need to stop teaching kids that it's not their fault if they mess
up. We need to start telling them to learn from their mistakes.
