There were 220 fatal overdoses in Palm Beach County last year, largely because of prescription drug abuse, and Martin claims marijuana is the leading drug problem? In the thousands of years marijuana has been used medicinally and recreationally, the plant has never been shown to cause an overdose death. The same cannot be said of aspirin, much less alcohol or prescription drugs. There is a good reason millions of Americans prefer marijuana to martinis. Pot is easily the least harmful recreational drug, legal or otherwise. Robert Sharpe, Policy Analyst Common Sense for Drug Policy Washington, D.C. - --- MAP posted-by: Beth Wehrman
