"We're treating it as an isolated incident," mall spokesman Heath Applebaum said. "We look at it as a crime-prevention story. All these articles were intended for someone and that person didn't get them." The weapons included a Mac 11 machine pistol and three handguns. Crystal meth, masks and ammunition were also stashed in a bag in the locker. Mac 11 "It's a submachine gun," Det.-Sgt. Doug Quan, of the Toronto Police's Guns and Gangs Squad, said of the Mac 11, adding the amount of drugs found was more than one person would typically have for personal use. The guns will be sent for forensic testing to see whether they can be matched to any crimes. Officers are also looking at reams of videotape evidence in the hopes whomever rented the locker can be identified. Keys Removed Applebaum said the lockers, which are checked by staff every day, have had their keys removed since the incident and will be disassembled in the New Year, as part of a major renovation of the Sheppard and DVP shopping mall. "We've never had anything like this before," Applebaum said. Shocked guards peeked inside a bag in the locker and called police, he said. - --- MAP posted-by: Amy
