SUPPORT CAPELESS IN CRACKDOWN ON DRUGS

To the Editor of THE EAGLE:- In an op-ed column in Wednesday's Eagle
by Peter Martin of Sheffield, it's stated that those charged with
dealing drugs in Great Barrington are "going to stand trial for
selling and using very small amounts of marijuana." The truth
is that they are charged with selling drugs, including cocaine,
ecstasy and marijuana. And the amounts involved?

For the marijuana dealers, its pre-packaged bags of the stuff.

No one is charged with selling any marijuana joints. I hardly think
that maintaining a policy that has been in effect for 15 years is
"political posturing." If you think it's OK for your kids to smoke
marijuana and it should be legalized, that's your mistake to make.
But I don't want your kids, or anyone else's, selling marijuana or
any other drugs to my children. That is why I support District
Attorney Capeless and I hope he will be our DA for a good long time.
