Drug section head officer Cpl. Gary Senner said the successful bust was part of an ongoing investigation. One man was arrested at the scene and will appear in Quesnel provincial court June 13. Investigation continues and Senner said the suspect's name is not being released until formal charges are sworn. Noting the new drug section swung into action last week, Senner said officers made a cocaine trafficking bust on Monday evening but details were not available at press time. "There's going to be a more concentrated effort [on drug violations] once we're up and running. It takes a while to build up our [people who see things going on] who talk to us on a regular basis," he said. "Anyone with information regarding marijuana grow-ops or if people see high volumes of traffic going in and out of a residence or anything looks suspicious, we would ask them to call the drug section [250-992-9211]." Senner said citizens play an important role in drug enforcement. "We rely a lot on the public. Our success has to do with people talking to us." There are two officers working the section, but they receive help and backup from general duty officers. - --- MAP posted-by: Jay Bergstrom
