SCHOOL DISTRICT TO UNVEIL DRUG PLAN

The Superior School District will present details of  its proposed
random drug-testing program to the public  at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the
Performing Arts Center at  Superior High School.

The proposed program is modeled after one in Kimberly,
Wis.

After the 2005 senior exit survey, Superior school  officials began to
study ways to deter students from  using illegal drugs and to identify
those who are using  drugs in order to intervene and provide
treatment.  Nearly two-thirds of the students surveyed felt that  the
high school has not maintained a drug-free  environment.
