WHY BOTHER, CANADA?

Editor, The News:

Re: A helping hand (News Views, April 29).

You posit the ridiculous argument that so long as the U.S. continues  
to ban marijuana poor little ole' Canada cannot do otherwise.

I suppose you think that Canada should have declined to prohibit  
slavery or legalize alcohol until the U.S. did.

Why bother having a separate state of Canada at all if we can't pass  
any laws that differ from those in the police state to the south.

God save us all from the relentless ignorance of the press.
