LAWMAKER FIGHTS A GOOD FIGHT

I'm writing about your thoughtful editorial: "Flake has made inroads,
but more work to do" (7-06-06). I believe that Rep. Jeff Flake
(R-AZ) is perhaps one of the very best representatives in the U. S.
House of Representatives.

He is a "true conservative" fiscally and otherwise. He fights
tirelessly against "Pork Barrel" spending via so-called "ear marks."

And Representative Flake was one of only 18 Republican members of the
U. S. House of Representatives to vote in favor of the Hinchey-
Rohrabacher Amendment which would have protected medical marijuana
patients from raids by the D. E. A. in states where medical marijuana is legal.

Many politicians pretend to be against "nanny state" policies of the
government. What could possibly be more "pro-nanny state" than our
marijuana prohibition policies?

Adult citizens don't need protection from themselves--we need
protection from our government!
