The information was part of a presentation by York Region Police Chief Armand La Barge and Insp. Wayne Kalinski. Drug arrests, however, kept the police busy as 26 per cent more people were arrested compared to the previous year. Although crimes against people were up by 5.2 per cent during that same time, there were about 14 per cent fewer crimes against property.
