SAFE-INJECTION SITE WORKS IN VANCOUVER

Kudos to "top city health, law and elected officials" for getting to 
work on what a safe-injection site might look like in Victoria.

I had the chance to tour Vancouver's facility last fall and came away 
impressed with the utility of the space and the dignity, integrity 
and compassion demonstrated by staff and clients alike.

Our community may be unique, but our drug-use challenges are not. A 
Victoria facility should reflect our own needs and neighbourhoods, 
but its design and operation will benefit from a review of what has 
worked in other communities.

Let's hope that when the money is spent and the report delivered, our 
decision-makers will have the continued gumption to act on its recommendations.
