Sheriff's deputies from Colusa and Glenn counties, working with the federal Bureau of Land Management, discovered two cultivation sites with a combined 10,130 pot plants on Wednesday, the Colusa department reported. Both fields were in the Indian Valley/Walker Ridge Recreation Area, in the county's far west. Each marijuana plant would have been worth about $4,000 at maturity, though county officials said most of the seized plants were young. The pot growers fled the sites before law enforcement officials arrived, according to the Sheriff's Department. Colusa County's Narcotic Enforcement Team and the District Attorney's Office took part in the seizure, along with the state Department of Fish and Game. - --- MAP posted-by: Richard Lake
