Bookmark: http://www.mapinc.org/pot.htm (Marijuana) BEND MAN ATTEMPTS ARMED BREAK-IN TO COLLECT DRUG DEBT A Bend man allegedly trying to collect money owed on a drug debt tried to kick in another man's door and pointed a gun at him before being arrested later in the northwest part of the city during a high-risk traffic stop, police reported. Officers found a 9-mm firearm and 10 ounces of marijuana in the suspect's vehicle. Bend Police responded to an address in the [redacted] about 12:45 p.m. to a report of an incident involving a firearm, Sgt. Brian Kindel said. The resident, [redacted], told police a man had just tried to kick in his front door and pointed a firearm at him. [redacted] provided a description of the man and his vehicle. The suspect vehicle was spotted traveling on NW Portland Avenue, and an officer followed it to Central Oregon Community College where a high-risk felony traffic stop was conducted. "A 9-mm firearm and a large quantity of marijuana (over ten ounces) were located within the vehicle," Kindel said, adding that items associated with delivery and manufacture of the controlled substance were also found. Police took the driver, who matched the description of the man involved in the Taurus Ct. incident, into custody. He was identified as [redacted]. Investigation determined that [redacted] went to [redacted] home to look for a different man who apparently owed him money for drugs, the sergeant reported. "No injuries occurred during the incident and no shots were fired," Kindel said. [redacted] was lodged in the Deschutes County Jail and is charged with numerous crimes including first-degree attempted burglary; unlawful use of a weapon; pointing a firearm at another; manufacture, delivery, and possession of a controlled substance; menacing, coercion, and second-degree criminal mischief.
