FIGHT CRIME, NOT PEOPLE

Daniel Ruth's excellent column "Mercy Plea Travels A Painful Road"
(Metro, Dec. 19) did not travel far enough down the painful road of
the war on (some) drugs. Hundred of thousands more citizens of Florida
have had their freedoms curtailed by state and local governments. Send
them all home with the understanding that all prohibition attempts
fail. Ruth should lead the paper in crusading for the end of this
misguided war.

The citizen is not the enemy.
