Oh yes, and how about those others who exploit the vulnerable, such as bar tenders, psychiatrists, tobacco farmers, slum landlords, casino owners and lottery managers? Should we jail them too? Clearly, drugs are not prohibited by government to protect the vulnerable, otherwise the above professions would be under attack by the authorities. Drugs are prohibited to increase the power and budgets of the police and to provide wealthy politicians and newspaper editors with opportunities to call for never-ending crackdowns on the poor.
