SUGAR KILLS, MARIJUANA DOESN'T SAYS WRITER

Dear Editor:

We should be mad as hell at drug dealers who pray on our children, as
Mr. Bodnar suggested in his closing remarks of the Walker trial as
reported in "HE JUST WANTED HER AT HOME."

However, why should we limit ourselves to the purveyors of illicit
drugs?

There are many more dealers of legal drugs that cause harm to our
children and our families every day. Maybe a few of these could use a
bit of the same vigilante justice as an example to others.

High on my list would be anyone selling sugar to kids. Whether organic
or refined into concentrated bars, sugar is a highly addictive and
deadly substance. Don't let the rosy-cheek chocolateers or friendly
convenience store clerks fool you, the drug they peddle is far more
addictive and dangerous than even crystal meth.

Degenerative diseases caused by regular sugar consumption include the
following: hypoglycemia, diabetes, chronic constipation, chronic
stomach upset, intestinal gas, arthritis, asthma, headaches,
osteoporosis, heart disease, obesity, chronic Candida infection, tooth
decay, and inflammatory bowel disease.

Other diseases associated with chronic long-term sucrose consumption
include: psoriasis, cancer, multiple sclerosis, canker sores, gall
stones, and cystic fibrosis.

So, if your forming a vigilante posse, keep in mind that the marijuana
sold by the local dealer has never killed anyone, sugar in the form of
chocolate bars and pop sold at the local gas station kill thousands of
Canadians every year.
