B.C. MAN TAKING POT MESSAGE TO OTTAWA

One B.C. man is using roller skating as a creative way to seek change.

Neil Magnuson is skating across Canada to raise awareness about the
prohibition of cannabis and stopped in Moose Jaw on the weekend.

Magnuson started in Vancouver in July. He is making his way across
the country to Ottawa.

In Ottawa, Magnuson will be speaking on Remembrance Day about his
cause. On his way, he will be stopping in different towns to talk to
the people about cannabis.

"This is about rights and freedoms," said Magnuson during a rally
held in Wakamow Valley on Saturday.

Magnuson believes cannabis is earth's miracle plant.

He said the plant can and should be used for more than just medicinal
and recreational uses.

Hemp is supposed to make a better paper than that made from trees and
hemp clothing is suppose to be far superior to synthetic clothing, he said.

"It is way more efficient and cleaner than fossil fuels," said Magnuson.

Magnuson hopes his message will get out and Canadians will hear and
understand what he has to say on the issue.

"We do not have proper education on this subject," he said.

"The first step is awareness and that is what I am doing right now,
by talking to people."
