DRUG-TEST TEACHERS

Hawaii's school teachers and their union, the HSTA, should accept the
drug-testing policy they agreed to during contract talks with the
state. They should tell the ACLU to drop its threats to sue Gov.
Lingle over the plan (governor, hang tough!).

The drug-testing plan is sorely needed. It's good for our students,
schools and the betterment of all Hawaii. Call it an investment in the
future.

I can only wonder what those teachers who are complaining about the
program have to hide. If you're doing illegal drugs, you most
definitely are not entitled to a taxpayer-funded job -- especially
such an important one!
