RIGHT STRATEGY NEEDED

The marijuana debate is so politicized that rational thought has gone
out the window.

Sgt. Scott Rintoul argues we must do with marijuana what we've done
with tobacco to reduce its use. But we control tobacco and "tax the
living hell out of it," just as Larry Campbell suggests we do with marijuana.

We've shown we can make inroads on difficult issues like drug abuse
with the right strategy. Alcohol and tobacco abuse have both declined
significantly since people realized addiction is a health issue and
not a moral one. Let's do the same with other forms of addiction.

Campbell and Rintoul are on different pages of the same book.
