KEEP GROWING MEDICAL MARIJUANA

Re: Debating The War On Pot, letter to the editor, Nov. 26.

I treat chronic pain patients everyday. To obtain medical marijuana,
I fill out the required forms for Health Canada's Medicinal Marijuana
Access Program, allowing my patients to achieve pain and nausea benefits.

Growing marijuana for personal use is but one of the available
exemptions from criminal drug laws. I recently double-checked with
Health Canada and it has no plans to adjust the legislation and
restrict any exemptions for medicinal marijuana usage.

Therefore, letter-writer E. Jolin and other sick and dying Canadians
on the medical marijuana program can continue to grow cannabis
according to their needs, without any fear of being sent to jail.
