Herald's website carried the headline "Nipawin RCMP seize marijuana plants from rural property" and went on to detail how police recovered marijuana plants along with unregistered firearms and a stolen vehicle. The focus on marijuana is a disservice to readers of this paper. Marijuana is less of a lethal danger than cars or firearms. Several deaths each and every year are attributed to firearms and vehicular accidents but it would seem that Herald reporters and staff are much more afraid of innocuous plants which cannot be attributed to a single overdose death anywhere. I have to wonder if poison ivy brings Herald staffers to shake in their shoes as well. Headline writers should receive a severe admonishment for this ridiculous positioning of a story and the editor should consider the negative situation that this type of coverage perpetuates. Shame on the P.A. Herald for warping the public perception and taking us all for ignorant fools. Ethan Erkiletian President, Saskatchewan Marijuana Party Saskatoon - --- MAP posted-by: Beth Wehrman
