THERE IS A DIFFERENCE

I was taken aback by Stanley Reitsma's letter opposing the repeal of 
cannabis prohibition.

If he cannot see any difference between the decision to ingest a drug 
into ones own body with rape and drunken driving then perhaps he 
should forego comment in the public discourse. We no longer have the 
resources here in the U.S. to incarcerate everyone who sins, though 
God knows we have tried, and I suspect the same is true of Canada.

Even if we could do so we wouldn't stop drug use. At long last the 
time has come to try something different and the re-legalization of 
cannabis is a good place to start.
