MORRO BAY MARIJUANA DISPENSARY SEARCHED BY COUNTY DEPUTIES, FEDERAL
AGENTS

San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department officials and federal
Drug Enforcement Administration agents served two federal search
warrants around 11 a.m. Thursday to the medical marijuana dispensary
in Morro Bay.

The dispensary, called the Central Coast Compassionate Caregivers, is
at 780 Monterey Ave. near Morro Bay Boulevard.

Officials said the search warrants were the culmination of a yearlong
investigation, but the warrants were sealed, meaning no details of
the investigation was released.

Officials also searched the dispensary owner's residence in Arroyo
Grande. The owner could be facing federal charges, officials said.

No one was arrested Thursday afternoon, but some people associated
with the dispensary had been detained.

About five customers had stopped by the dispensary Thursday and were
turned away by law enforcement. Sheriff's officials believed that
once law enforcement agents left business would continue as usual.

About a dozen law enforcement officials were at the site - half from
the county sheriff's and half from DEA.
