CHILDREN BORN DRUG ADDICTED

As a member of the community, I get very tired of hearing about
mothers who have given birth to not one but often several drug
addicted children. These babies are often born with complications
that will affect them for the rest of their lives. I think it is
ridiculous that this state does not have any legislation in place to
protect these unborn children, or at the very least enforce
consequences for these mothers that give birth to babies addicted to drugs.

I realize that these mothers are addicted and often times they can't
help it, but these children can not pick who there mother is either.
I just don't understand why it is against the law to give drugs to a
one-year-old, but there are no repercussions for giving drugs to an
unborn child. This state needs to pass some kind of legislation that
will protect these children and/or offer a punishment that will help
deter these mother's from using in the first place!
