STRIPPER TOLD TO FIND ANOTHER LINE OF WORK

A London stripper convicted of a drug offence Wednesday can only 
return to Sarnia-Lambton if she gets another job, the Sarnia court heard.

Eden Skye Clements, 20, was jailed for the equivalent of five months 
and placed on probation for a year. She can only enter Lambton County 
for employment that does not include working at adult entertainment clubs.

"I hope you can find a better way," said Justice Deborah Austin, when 
imposing the probation order.

Clements nodded in agreement.

She had pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana for the purpose of 
trafficking and violating a court order not to possess drugs. It was 
her first conviction for a drug offence.

Austin said she had no hesitation in imposing the order due to the 
close connection between Clements' work as a dancer and the drug 
offence that occurred Nov. 19, 2006 on Highway 402 in Warwick Township.

Federal prosecutor Michael Robb requested the probation condition, 
saying Clements had been in Lambton County to commit drug offences.

She was found with seven one-ounce bags of marijuana in her suitcase 
as she was being driven back to London after finishing work at a local club.

An officer had pulled over a mini-van to investigate a Highway 
Traffic Act offence and detected an odour of burnt marijuana in the 
van. The occupants admitted they had been smoking marijuana.

A search found the packaged marijuana and a set of scales.

Clements had been in custody since the offence. Robb requested that 
only 75 days of the pre-sentence custody be applied to the Lambton 
offences. She still faces outstanding charges in Woodstock and London.

The 75 days is the equivalent of five months when calculated at the 
usual two-for-one rate for pre-sentence custody.
