I hope the irony of your story is not lost on your readers. For decades, schools have encouraged the use of Ritalin to curb some children's unmanageable behaviours. What are children supposed to think when we preach zero tolerance on one hand and encourage drug use on the other? We should be concerned about the mixed messages we are sending our youth. Common sense tells us we should be teaching responsible use and proper behaviour to our children, not which brand-name drugs to try. MOE BRONDUM North Battleford, Sask.
