Cropp's lawyers had argued that the rules of racing, which oversaw taking body samples from jockeys and stablehands, were invalid because they had not been authorised by the Racing Act 2003. In a High Court decision, Justice Pamela Andrews dismissed Cropp's application for a review of Thoroughbred Racing's drug testing procedures and awarded costs to the racing body. However, Cropp's lawyer, Barry Hart, said today he would seek a Court of Appeal ruling. The charges relate to a routine drugs test at Te Rapa two years ago on Monday in which Cropp tested positive to the drug methamphetamine. - --- MAP posted-by: Derek
