Wooldridge LEGALIZATION WOULD RETURN NEIGHBORHOODS TO SAVE HAVENS FOR FAMILIES Regarding the letter, "Drugs ruined what was once a nice little neighborhood," (AC-T, May 19): During my 18 years of police service, illegal drugs became cheaper, stronger and even easier to buy. My profession has already spent a trillion tax dollars to achieve that result. The letter writer bemoans (and rightfully so) the drug dealing in her neighborhood. Nothing will change until we end the New Prohibition and have all drugs sold from a state-regulated store. Howard J. Wooldridge, Frederick, Md.
