DEREGULATE NEEDLES

Thank you printing Chicago Tribune columnist Steve Chapman's piece in
such a prominent position.

Such truth and common sense.

Let's hope our politicians catch up to this kind of practical thinking
and forgo the posturing and moralizing that does nothing to improve
the situation.

I hope Chapman next takes on the national disaster of the war on
drugs.

Again, research shows money spent on treatment is vastly superior to
the tremendous costs of the criminal justice/moralizing approach we
have tried for 27-plus years.
