HARMFUL DRUG?

Re "Canucks going to weed" (July 9): Despite what drug policy expert 
Barry McKnight would have us believe, cannabis has never been proven 
to be dangerous or harmful. The only thing harmful about cannabis is 
its prohibition. If cannabis is so dangerous, why do millions of 
Canadians feel safe using it? If cannabis is so harmful why does 
Canada have a medical marijuana program? The Tories have a 
compulsive, habitual reliance on criminal sanctions to curb cannabis 
use. Hmm, sounds uncommonly like an addiction.
