DON'T PICK ON THE PIPE SELLERS

I'd like to educate some of the Progress' most ignorant readers on 
the subject of pipes being sold in retail locations in Chilliwack.

I've been a customer at the location and every time I buy cigarettes 
there I am ID'd. These retailers are law-abiding citizens just trying 
to make a living. Furthermore, I'd like to point out that the pipes 
in question are for narcotic purposes and I agree that the crack/meth 
pipes should be banned, but bongs and cannabis pipes should remain 
because marijuana consumption is harmless. I know many of you will 
not agree with that statement but that is for another debate.

Lastly, if pipes are banned we must also ban the sale of light bulbs, 
tin foil , plumbing supplies, soda cans, metal spoons, apples, Pyrex 
tubing, steel wool , and the many other things that pipes can be made of.

Mayor Clint Hames , thumbs down to you for not examining this issue 
from all angles before setting off on a crusade against law abiding retailers.
