FORMER POTTAWATTAMIE COUNTY ATTORNEY'S DRUG TRIAL OPENS

COUNCIL BLUFFS -- Jury selection began today in the trial of former
Assistant Pottawattamie County Attorney Jeff TeKippe.

TeKippe, 46, is accused of checking out a bag of cocaine from the
Council Bluffs Police Department's evidence locker, removing cocaine
from it and replacing the drugs with flour.

He faces 12 charges, including felonious misconduct, possession of a
controlled substance and theft.

Pottawattamie County Attorney Matt Wilber and several other office
employees are expected to take the stand during the trial.

TeKippe prosecuted mostly drug cases for the Pottawattamie County
Attorney's Office. He was fired days before his arrest in February.
