Police don't want vigilantes but you get the feeling they're sometimes mystified why people are so quick to say 'help me' and so slow to help themselves. This meeting lets each resident know they're not alone and it gets the police and the neighbours on the same page. Now it's time for others to do their part. The Regional District of Nanaimo needs to get working on a bylaw that empowers it to fine drug-house owners and the Vancouver Island Health Authority needs to check out the complaints about rats and garbage. Together we can get this done. - --- MAP posted-by: Larry Seguin
