GROUP PRAISES EDITORIAL ON POT POSSESSION BILL

The proponents of reducing penalties for marijuana possession are
grateful for your endorsement of the effort to pass HB 1623. (Jan.
24: "Pot possession bill merits consideration")

We believe that if legislators are willing to spend time evaluating
the facts and fictions surrounding this bill, a majority will realize
the bill makes perfect sense for New Hampshire.

We understand that, for many, voting for any marijuana reform will
require a certain amount of courage, but legislators are noticing
that the public supports this reform.

You are correct to point out errors in how the bill was drafted by
Legislative Services. We are confident that all errors will be fixed
by the subcommittee, and that a properly amended HB 1623 can get the
whole state's attention by earning an "ought to pass" recommendation
from the House Criminal Justice and Pubic Safety Committee.
