PROPOSED SITE MAKES GOOD SENSE

I think the proposed new needle exchange location is an excellent
choice.

At the site on Cormorant Street there are no complementary
services.

The new location is adjacent to many services such as nursing,
addiction counselling, mental health counselling, food and possible
short-term housing.

In addition, there is to be a police presence to curtail any potential
effect on the surrounding community.

Perhaps using the needle exchange may lead the way to rehabilitation
for some people as they see others on the way to better health.

I live three blocks away from the site and often pass St. Andrew's.
Students wouldn't need to pass directly past the proposed exchange as
they can walk on the other side of the street.

Should a student see some people waiting to enter the needle exchange,
with all their belongings on their back, perhaps this can be an
incentive toward a career geared to solving the homeless/addiction
problem.
