ABUSING OUR RIGHTS

I was wondering how long it would take for the lawsuits to start
flying over the inspection of "excessive power-use homes" without a warrant.

It's about time we saw some real information regarding this issue.

Apparently, very few homes searched under this program actually have a grow-op.

That's hardly a successful endeavour, and not what the City of Surrey
would have you believe.

In the case detailed in The Province, a Surrey couple refused to let
police enter their home.

Even though they only refused entry to the police, who didn't have a
warrant, the city shut off their power.

The couple had told the city's inspectors that they were allowed in.
Surprise, surprise, no grow-op was found.

I hope that this family succeeds in its lawsuit so this abuse of
citizen's privacy is brought to an immediate stop.
