STOP BULLYING THE INNOCENT WITH POLICE POT SEARCHES

Re: Police pot search upsets homeowner, May 3

This story hit a raw nerve and more so after another similar story on
Global TV news regarding a pregnant women and her husband being
accused of running a grow operation and the many other cases of the
innocent being bullied by the ever increasing powers that government
give themselves.

Why has government got the right to enter into a family home based
upon the BC Hydro "police" reporting high electricity use and the
asinine assumption by overzealous bureaucrats that you are
automatically guilty of growing marijuana? This heavy-handed approach
to obviously innocent cases has to stop. By all means get the bad
guys, but use some common sense and courtesy and stop this practice
of accusing people of being guilty.

And if there is no grow operation, what gives the search party the
right to snoop around for something else? Just apologize and leave,
following up with a written apology. This is the least one would
expect in our civil society.
