Rutherford DRUG POLICIES FOSTER VIOLENCE AT HOME AND ABROAD Ms. O'Grady was right on target. We are the enablers. Now, given that many college students have more than a passing penchant for taking up causes, especially causes in foreign countries, maybe they could be part of the solution. If we could turn these young adults around and show them the harm "to those poor Mexicans," then maybe they would turn to social ostracism of fellow students using drugs. Look at the pressure being brought against gas guzzlers. All of the law enforcement in the world (at least not the kind we are willing to use) will not stop this trade in death and dereliction. Only society can do that. Charles T. Rutherford Westminster, Mass. - --- MAP posted-by: Richard Lake
