OFF THE MARK

Letter-writer Angie Korkowski (Opinion, June 10) asks if she is the
only one who knows that marijuana is a "gateway" drug. She is clearly
unaware that the various studies available from the Canadian Centre on
Substance Abuse prove conclusively that it is not.

These studies also confirm her assertion that everyone who battles
addictions started out with marijuana is equally inaccurate.
