THE DRUG DEALER WHO WAS AGED 11

CHILDREN as young as 11 have been caught dealing drugs in schools in
Devon and Cornwall, police have revealed.

An 11-year-old, from an unnamed school in West Devon, was given a
police reprimand after being caught supplying cannabis.

And a 13-year-old in Plymouth was also caught in possession of
Diazepam -- or Valium -- and given a final warning.

They were two of 15 incidents of drug dealing or possession with
intent to supply on school premises in the last three years across
the force area.

They were among 122 drugs offences committed in Devon and Cornwall
schools between 2005 and 2007, according to statistics released by
the police.

Inspector Jacqui Hawley, Devon and Cornwall Police's youth issues
manager, said the figures were low considering there were nearly 300
secondary schools in the force area.
