ELECTORAL JOCOSITY

How unfortunate that a huge field of marijuana plants was discovered
near Pembroke, Ont., in the past couple of days. Think of what a
brilliant outdoor platform it would have been for our major political
parties to launch their campaigns. There's Jack Layton in the middle
of the field, shyly speaking about the legalization of marijuana and
the NDP's disconnection from the Marijuana Party. A bit to the right,
there's Stephane Dion sheepishly grinning at the edge of the field
and explaining that this is not quite what he meant by the Green
Shift. And look up! There's Stephen Harper in a bullet-proof vest
demonstrating the wonders of law and order as his small plane
obliterates the field with toxic spray.
