NO RIGHTS AT ALL

Editor, The News:

Re: A strong message from west side residents (Letters, Sept. 26).

Carol Greer says that "the devices are meant for and mainly targeting
what is currently illegal drug use."

1) Marijuana is legal for medical purposes.

2) Marijuana prohibition laws have been gradually collapsing in the
courts for about 10 years, and the only thing keeping them alive is
judicial technicalities and not any actual validity of the laws themselves.

3) Since it is legal to use marijuana for medical purposes, especially
if you have a Health Canada license, as I do, it stands too reason
that there should be some legal place to purchase their delivery
devices. In fact, Ontario Disability Support paid for my volcano
vaporizer without any hassle at all.

4) If you accept that the government has any say as to what you can
and cannot put into your own body (or the devices which deliver those
substances), then you must accept their ownership. That means the
government owns you, like a pet, or a slave, or livestock, and that
you have only the rights that they grant you. If you accept that, then
maybe you deserve no rights at all.
