Quebec's occupational health and safety agency looked into the death of Constable Daniel Tessier during a drug raid of the home of Basil Parasiris. Mr. Parasiris, a former businessman, was charged with first-degree murder in Const. Tessier's death, but was acquitted in June. The defence successfully argued that Mr. Parasiris thought he was the victim of a home invasion. The report found that police checked only whether any guns had been registered at the home. More in-depth research would have shown that there were in fact guns in the house. The report recommends that all Laval police officers receive training on researching the gun registry. - --- MAP posted-by: Richard Lake
