HEMP FOR FUEL, FOOD, FIBRE

RE: "Man,what a stupid species," Sun, Jan. 2.

If Paul Berton were to google "industrial hemp", he would realize that
humans are far more stupid than he imagined. Instead of using
expensive, dirty, finite crude oil for our energy , we could be using
industrial hemp for fuel, food, fibre, building materials, medicine
and 25,000 other applications.

If the U.S. were to sow just 10% of their current farm land as hemp,
they wouldn't need to buy foreign oil. That would certainly stabilize
things. But the U.S. is one of the few nations where the most
versatile industrial crop know to man is still illegal. And the U.S.
runs the world.

(Lots of businesses fear hemp.)
