I do not see anything really wrong with smoking marijuana, so I do not think what Michael Phelps did was really anything to be ashamed of. But even assuming his actions were ill-conceived, since when did the celebrity/ athlete become the moral arbiter of our society? Just because a guy can swim better than most and has won a few medals for it doesn't make him god. Far from it. Why is it Michael Phelps's job to appear flawless at all times?
