HOW TO BEAT GANGS

Re: "Anti-gang measures have little lasting value" (Editorial, March 2).

The best way to thwart the gangs is to regulate their commodities,
meaning drugs. But the police and government don't want that. They
would rather make illegal things even more illegal because this
assures that the war on certain drugs will last forever.

This policy will keep cops busy, enrich lawyers, fill jails, and give
politicians a scapegoat to deride. To continue with this failed
prohibitionist policy - doing the same thing over and over and
expecting a different result - is insanity.
