ALL TEENS AREN'T DRUGGIES

I recognize that many teenagers these days are experimenting with
drugs and alcohol.

But as a teenager I am insulted by some of American psychotherapist
Sheenah Hankin's generalizations in this Citizen article about
Charles Laurence's son.

My high school is not a "drug supermarket" and not "all kids are
experimenting." And we don't "all try it" whether or not we have
experienced problems or trauma at home.

I do not think that stereotyping teenagers as druggies is a good
idea. There are enough stereotypes we have to fight in our lives.
