M. Dougall LEGALIZE MARIJUANA USE FOR MEDICINAL PURPOSES Regarding the letter Legalize marijuana now (Aug. 10) I couldn't agree more that Bill C-15 needs to be stopped. I was injured in a car accident several years ago and suffer from chronic pain. About a year ago I decided I didn't want to be on OxyContin anymore. I started smoking marijuana instead. Mind you, it doesn't take the pain away quite as well, but it does do pretty much the same thing, without the same addictive properties, health concerns, etc. For making what seems to me a common-sense decision, I would now face - - I assume - jail time. There are far bigger problems in our society than marijuana. I think it's about time our MPs got this through their heads. A. M. Dougall Alvinston - --- MAP posted-by: Richard Lake
