ONE GOOD THING ABOUT AN ELECTION

One good thing about an election is that Bill C-15 will die. This
mandatory minimum sentence drug bill would have cost Canadians
billions every year, ruined the lives of thousands of Canadians,
whilst simultaneously giving organized crime yet another subsidy by
maintaining artificially high black market prices. It should be noted:
the Liberals voted this egregious bill through, when the NDP and Bloc
voted against it. My greatest fear, however, is that this election
will result in a Stephen Harper majority. With total power, I have no
doubt that Harper would shut down the Health Canada medical marijuana
program, and instruct the RCMP to round up the 3,000
soon-to-be-former-pot-licence-holder and throw us all in jail.
