GREELEY SHOULD CALL IT WHAT IT IS: LEGALIZING DRUGS

So there is talk of having shops to sell medical marijuana in our
city. This is a farce; you are legalizing the use of the drug. Time
magazine had an article on this program in California. Anyone there
can go to a doctor, pay the fee and get a prescription.

Pot is the entrance drug for most users. You may as well legalize all
drugs. Legalize pot, meth, cocaine and heroin — and continue to
destroy millions of lives. I have worked with drug users for 35 years
and seen untold destruction of people and their families.

I get angry when I see the destruction caused by drugs. I buried a son
who died young because of drug abuse. Please do not lecture me about
being tolerant. We need to stiffen penalties rather than legalize
drugs. Follow the example of Singapore where there is little drug
traffic. Dealers are executed.

I grieve when I see the moral decay of our country. It is not the same
America I knew when I fought in World War II. America needs to repent.
Our motto states “In God We Trust.” It is time for America to do that.
