MARIJUANA PROPOSAL WOULD BE BAD TRIP

I am writing in response to Dan Linn's Sept. 20 letter advocating
turning Danville into a pot haven tourist attraction.

That's all we need, thousands of pot smokers with mellowed reflexes
joining thousands of liquored up tavern patrons already on the streets
and highways in defiance of driving under intoxication laws.

While the decriminalization of marijuana use has merits, I say no
thanks to turning Danville's downtown into a magical mystery tour.

Linn should keep it at home, stock up on the Cheetos and hide his car
keys. I've got enough to worry about.
